We are a vibrant community of sewing enthusiasts proudly serving Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties in Florida. Whether you’re a beginner learning the basics or an experienced sewist refining your craft, our chapter brings together people who share a passion for creativity, learning, and connection.
As part of the national American Sewing Guild, our mission is Advancing Sewing As An Art & Life Skill through education, inspiration, and fellowship. We offer engaging programs, hands-on workshops, special interest groups, and opportunities to learn from one another in a friendly, supportive environment.
Join us to stitch, learn, share, and grow—one project at a time.

Neighborhood Groups (NGs) are the heart of our Chapter. We have seven of them! Each offers a unique opportunity for friendly support. Some groups meet in person, some meet on Zoom and some offer both meeting types. They are designed to provide a “hands on” sewing experience with other guild members where you can exchange ideas and information. Members are encouraged to participate in as many meetings as they can fit into their schedule!
If you are comfortable with sewing, please consider teaching a project or giving a demonstration at one of your NG meetings- not only is it a BIG help to your leader but our members enjoy learning from each other.
ASG Ft. Lauderdale Neighborhood meetings are great places to meet with new and old friends. All neighborhood groups are open to any member and guests. Guests may attend two meetings without a membership.
Sewing is better when we share what we know. Our Tips & Tricks page is filled with practical advice, simple solutions, and “why didn’t I know that sooner?” moments from sewists who love the craft. Whether you’re working through a tricky project, brushing up on basics, or looking for new techniques to try, you’ll find helpful ideas here to boost your confidence and spark creativity—one stitch at a time.
